Vivien of Holloway Boutique in London

Exactly five years after traveling to London as newly weds, we visited this amazing city again. As we’d been there before, we had a lot of time to visit a lot of new spots aside from the must-sees like the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and Harrods.

Luckily for me, we had enough time to go on a proper shopping-spree! Okay, I’ll admit… multiple shopping-sprees. I was really looking forward to visiting the Collectif boutiques in London and Brighton. We did! And I bought two fabulous new tops at Collectif.

Another boutique I really wanted to visit was the Vivien of Holloway shop on Holloway Road. Though I didn’t own anything by VOH yet, Vivien’s designs have always held a little piece of my heart. I even put a Vivien of Holloway dress on the mood board I put together for my custom made wedding dress!

I was afraid I was going to have to let the thought of visiting the shop go, as it seemed to be located quite far from the city centre. Fortunately, the Greaser figured out how we could get to the shop anyway. I was beyond happy he did. And it turned out to be quite easy!

The Boutique

Vivien of Holloway’ shop on Holloway Road is a dream. It’s such a lovely boutique, decorated beautifully and perfectly organized. All the skirts, all the dresses, all the tops and all the petticoats! It’s basically the image of the walk-in closet I dream of.

I knew exactly what I wanted to try on and get from the VOH shop, but I couldn’t wait to start browsing through all the pretty items and try on a couple of things. It didn’t take long until I found the VOH skirt of my dreams, the reason I really wanted to visit the boutique: their Circle Skirt in Brown Leopard.

Dressing up

As I was trying on this fabulous skirt, one of the lovely ladies from behind the counter was in the mood for a little dress up. She picked out a top for me to try on with the skirt, she gave me a petticoat, she picked out a belt and put it on me (hello teeny tiny waist!), and put a pretty flower in my hair. The ladies at the Vivien of Holloway shop sure know how to make you feel like a doll. They were so nice and sweet, I felt wonderful trying on different skirts and shirts.

Addition to the Tiki collection

Even though we visited the Vivien of Holloway shop mostly for me, we stumbled upon a stunning Hawaiian shirt that had the Greaser’s name written all over it. He tried it on and it fit like a glove. It was obvious we would bring this puppy home.

It got even better! Not only does Vivien design stunning Tiki-inspired dresses; she even had an exclusive Tiki Mug made for the shop’s 7th anniversary! It’s not just a VOH Tiki mug, miss Holloway is on the front design, herself! She’s wearing one of her own creations and is playing the Ukulele! Of course, we also brought this amazing mug home with us.

The shop

If you ever visit London, make sure you also take the subway to Holloway Road! I loved spending some time in the VOH boutique!

If you want to, you can put together an entire outfit at the boutique: from amazing top-and-skirt-combinations and dresses to beautiful petticoats, bags, hair flowers, waist belts, stockings, gloves, scarfs and other accessories. We were really excited to see the little Tiki mug display they had set up.

Also, the ladies behind the counter were very lovely and made us feel very welcome. They gave us some Rockabilly tips in case we were in the mood to go to a Halloween party, while we were in London.

The Vivien of Holloway shop is definitely a boutique you must visit during your next London trip!
