A Rock ‘n Roll travel guide – Munich

Munich is one of those places everyone should visit, at least once in their life. The view from the Olympiaturm, a stroll through Nymphenburg Park and a beer at the Hofbräuhaus are obvious musts when you travel to Munich. However, for lovers of Rock ’n Roll, retro, cocktails and Tiki, there are a lot of other really cool things to do in Munich!

4: Trader Vic’s

Drink a Mai Tai at Trader Vic’s!
Trader Vic was the inventor of the drink and opened this amazing cocktail bar in 1971 in the basement of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. The Munich Trader Vic’s is one of only two left in Europe. The other is located in London (1963).

5: Deutches Museum

Check out the Tatara boat at the Deutsches Museum. Made by the Tao (Yami) people on Orchid Island (Lanyu), a small island off the coast of Taiwan. A Tatara shaped Tiki Bowl, named “Orchid Island Canoe Bowl” is used by Trader Vic’s to serve cocktails in. You can also find it in their webshop!
